Avena Botanicals is the first Demeter-certified biodynamic farm in Maine.
Biodynamic agriculture is a holistic and spiritually alive system of organic and ecological practices and philosophies based on the teachings of Dr. Rudolf Steiner. One of the core beliefs and practices of biodynamics is to help heal the Earth.

Unlike most mass produced herbal products, Avena Botanicals are produced by people, not machines.
From seed to bottle every step of the process is done by people. These herbal tinctures are produced in the traditional way that herbalists have always done, respecting the knowledge that nature has given.
POLLINATOR SANCTUARY
Avena's gardens have been purposefully planted with protective hedgerows and flowering plants that offer nectar and pollen to dozens of pollinators.
Shimmering ruby-throated hummingbirds and various butterflies, honey bees and native bees fill the gardens with an array of colors, sounds, and personalities.
TRACEABILITY
It can be nearly impossible to know where most herbal supplement companies get their raw materials from.
Avena Botanicals is different. They grow nearly every ingredient they use in their products on their beautiful farm.

Because Avena Botanicals grows and produces their own raw materials and products, you can be sure they are free of common adulterants, harmful solvents (acetone, hexane, ethylene dichloride), and high levels of heavy metals found in many herbal supplements.
