Whole Food Center
raw, organic, sustainable coconut oil
At Dignity, less than 12 hours passes between cracking open the coconut and sealing the lid on the jar. They have an impressive "people first" business model and use every part of the coconut. Dignity is committed to sustainable practices and enriching the lives of the rural communities they operate in.
Other production methods take the oil through a rough process, cooking the oil at high temperatures and often using chemicals to separate the oil. Dignity Coconuts Virgin Coconut Oil is centrifuge extracted, using gravitational force to gently separate the oil, leaving you with pure and delicious virgin coconut oil.
By partnering with locals in the Philippines, Dignity has built a business that provides jobs, fair trade, education and life skills training.
Dignity uses all parts of the coconut. Coconut oil, milk, and water are used for food. The coconut peat is turned into soil conditioner, the shell is ground for a renewable plastics filler, and the husk fiber becomes erosion control blankets!
BREAKING THE CHAINS OF SLAVERY
Much of coconut oil that is sold in the world is produced with slave labor.
Dignity coconuts mission is to transform the coconut oil industry and eliminate slavery in coconut oil production and farming.
Many of the regions where coocnut oil is grown have extremely high levels of povery, leading many to enter dangerous lines of work, such as sex work.
Dignity Coconuts locates their factories in these poor villages and pays fair wages, so people can live a life of dignity and stay in their local community.
