Free of fillers, binders, fillers, gums (xantham, gellan, guar, etc), artificial and "natural" flavors and sweeteners.
The body makes some creatine each day from amino acids. The rest must be obtained from the diet.
Here are some creatine-rich foods and approximate serving sizes:
- Herring: 3 ounces (cooked) provides roughly 600-1000mg of creatine.
- Salmon: 3 ounces (cooked) contains about 400-500mg of creatine.
- Beef: 3 ounces (cooked) offers around 400-500mg of creatine.
- Tuna: 3 ounces (cooked) contains approximately 400-500mg of creatine.
- Pork: 3 ounces (cooked) provides roughly 400-500mg of creatine.
Keep in mind that cooking methods can affect creatine content.
Generally, raw meats contain slightly higher levels of creatine compared to cooked. While these foods provide a decent amount of creatine, reaching optimal levels for muscle growth often requires supplementation. The FDA recommends against eating raw meat, poultry, and fish.
The body stores creatine as phosphocreatine primarily in your muscles, where it's used for energy.
