Refill pack of our popular beet powder.

Beets, called red carrots in Europe, are one of the undisputed stars of the vegetable world.  Research has identified three main uses for the common beet.

The first is as a liver/gall bladder tonic because of its abundance of betaine, a phytochemical that supports healthy bile levels.

Beets have also been traditionally used to support healthy iron levels, especially in children, because of their iron content.

And, finally, recent studies have shown that beet powder supports a healthy heart, most likely because of the presence of nitric-oxide precursors found in the beetroot.

Dr. Cowan's Garden Three-Beet Powder is made from three varieties of beets (Detroit Red, Chiogga, and Golden) that were grown by the Demeter-certified biodynamic farm Hawthorne Valley in Hudson Valley, N.Y. Because of its intense flavor and abundant nutrients, Three-Beet Powder can be used in any dish, from salads to desserts (especially with its traditional complement, chocolate).

Our favorite way to use Dr. Cowan’s Garden Three-Beet Powder is a teaspoon added to yogurt and a splash of maple syrup.

We recommend transferring the powder from the refill pouch to an empty Miron jar to prolong its freshness.

Dr. Cowan's vegetable powders are the easiest way to get more vegetable diversity in your diet. These powders blend easily into soups, smoothies, yogurt, and so much more!
