Moss Nutrition Acacia Fiber is a soluble fiber supplement produced from the dried sap of the Acacia Seyal tree. It is best known for soothing the digestive tract and for use as a prebiotic agent.
Acacia fiber is thought to provide many of the researched benefits generally associated with soluble fiber.
Also known as acacia gum or gum arabic, acacia fiber is rich in digestive-resistant polysaccharides that withstand the action of stomach acid and digestive enzymes. It travels through the upper GI tract and arrives in the large intestine nearly intact.
These polysaccharides are then fermented and broken down by colonic bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate, which help support a healthy gut lining and barrier health.
Acacia fiber dissolves easily in cold water to form a thick, gel-like liquid with beneficial properties.
It mixes well in liquids or may be sprinkled on moist foods such as oatmeal or yogurt.
Moss Nutrition Acacia Fiber is made with Fibregum, a premium raw material that is the first acacia fiber to be certified FODMAP-Friendly. FODMAPs (e.g. Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols) are carbohydrates and sugar alcohols that are fermented by gut microbes, leading to uncomfortable levels of intestinal gas, distension, and bloating in some people.
- Recommended Usage: 1 scoop two times per day or as directed by your healthcare professional. Mix with 4 oz water or other liquid. It also may be sprinkled on food. Take at least two hours apart from medications.
