GLASS TUBE GROWN CHLORELLA
Nutrients and an algae starter culture are added to tubular aquariums full of mineral-rich well water and the algae begin to grow. The advantages of this 500-kilometre system of glass tubing are obvious. The algae get an optimal supply of sunlight because there are no “dark zones” like you get in the lower layers of a pond, and no contaminants from the outside can get into the culture.

BROKEN CELL WALL CHLORELLA
The cell walls of this chlorella are not broken up and indeed don’t have to be- Various investigations into this have shown: The digestibility of chlorella is not significantly increased by breaking up its cell walls. Factors such as the drying process or the species (strain) of chlorella used, have a greater impact. This is summarized as follows in a publication by T. Kanno (2005), stating that “The original characteristics and the physiological effects of Chlorella are not changed by breaking up the cell wall” and “It is more to be feared that the process of breaking up the cell wall may degrade proteins, destroy vitamins, and fatty acids, thereby resulting in oxidation effects.”

POND GROWN CHLORELLA
Most chlorella is grown in outdoor ponds, which is a huge problem.
Chlorella bioaccumulates contaminants from the environment, such as from rain and air pollution.
Most chlorella is grown in India and China where there are huge problems with air and water pollution. These pollutants end up in the chlorella.
Most companies don't test for all of these pollutants, so there chlorella shows as not having contaminants, but that's because they don't test for most of them.

B12 IN CHLORELLA
The topic of the bioavailability of vitamin B12 from algae is a point of controversy. And in fact, there are indeed major differences between algae with regard to the presence of various cobalamins and their bioavailability.
Using the LC-MS/MS method lets them detect only the bioavailable forms in it. Algomed Chlorella contains 100 mcg of bioavailable vitamin B12 per 100 grams of chlorella.
Chlorella b12 is bioavailable for humans, but the b12 analogs in other algae, like spirulina, are not.
The recommended daily dose of 3 grams of Algomed Chlorella represents 120% of the daily value.
