Avena Botanicals California Poppy supports the nervous system and helps during stressful moments. Encourages healthy, restful sleep.*

Our garden bed of California Poppy, with bright orange flowers, wide and soft enough to catch the breezes of summer, is a special spot to sit beside and infuse with the beauty of this plant. California Poppy has a deep affinity for the central and peripheral nervous systems. This herb's cooling nature supports ease and calm in the senses as well as in the musculature of the body, especially when tightness and stress are present. California Poppy can be particularly helpful for supporting healthy, sound sleep, such as when occasional irritability and tension stand at the gates to dreamland.

California Poppy is a gentle, yet effective, herb that supports children and adults alike. It can be an especially helpful ally during emotional stress and generalized "crankiness."

Garden Notes: These vibrant orange soft-petaled flowers bloom prolifically in our Biodynamic gardens at the height of summer. We harvest the whole plant in the morning, when the flowers are shimmering with the sun's light, and tincture immediately in organic alcohol.

Taste / Energetics: bitter, cooling, calming, comforting, relieving, softening.

Actions: relaxing nervine, anodyne, antispasmodic.

When to reach for it: When needing extra support for muscles and nerves, especially when occasionally stressed. Helpful for travel-induced unrest, concern, or discomfort. Before bed or in the evenings. While sitting in traffic. When emotional tension seems to be getting the better of you. When seeking the sense of a summer breeze, fluttering petals, and the sun's radiance. For adults and children alike.
