Emu Spirit Emu oil contains the synergistic activity of all aspects of Emu oil, including its temperature-sensitive Omega essential fatty acids and vitamin k2 (as mk4).

They control all stages of production, from farming the Emus to processing and rendering fat into 100% pure emu oil, using their patented rendering system OilTek™ at their Melbourne-based facilities.

Emu Spirit’s patented rendering process, OilTek, developed by a leading oil chemist, is exclusive to Emu Spirit and Emu Spirit’s products. This process produces a stable, 100% pure oil that maintains the same natural molecular structure as the raw, natural product (emu fat).

All of the naturally occurring nutrients, such as vitamin K2 (as mk-4), are present. The amount of this and other nutrients will vary from batch to batch, as with any whole food.

Farming and feeding of Emus play a significant part in the quality of Emu Oil. Therefore, they make sure their emus are sourced from reputable, licensed Emu farms. They carefully monitor their living conditions and quality. Their emus are not fed GMO feed, free from growth hormones, and free from antibiotics. They exceed normal industry practice to produce a more active oil by only using three-year-old Emus that have been through a normal breeding season rather than Emus processed just prior to their first breeding season.

The birds live and graze in open grass stock pastures on large acreage in Tungamah, close to the border between Victoria and New South Wales.

Their diet consists of natural whole grains, like wheat and barley, as well as native insects and fruits.

FAQ:

What is the shelf life of Emu Spirit’s products?

Due to their rendering process, Emu Spirit Emu Oil Oil of Emu products have a shelf life of 3 years.

Is anything added to the oil?

Their pure Emu oil is exactly that – pure. They don’t mix it with water, add any oils, and there are no additives.

Are all of the other parts of the emu used?

Yes. Although they only use the oil, there are other companies that sell the meat, and feathers from the Emu so that nothing is wasted.

Can you use emu oil on your hair and scalp?

Absolutely. Emu oil is really great to use if you have a dry scalp or want to support healthy hair. Perhaps the best way to use the oil is to wet your hair, pour the desired amount of oil into our palm and work it into your scalp through to the ends of your hair. You can then leave it over night (try wrapping your hair in cling wrap) or leave it in for 20-30 minutes. Use shampoo afterwards to make sure you clean any left over oil.

Is the emu oil cold pressed?

No. Because Emu oil is derived from an animal and not a fruit or vegetable, it cannot be cold pressed the way that oils such as olive oil are. Emu oil needs to go through a rendering process.

Is the oil ‘Triple refined’ or ‘Super refined’?

Emu Spirit uses a unique patented rendering system called OILTEK™. They do not believe you should ‘Triple refine’ or ‘Super refine’ Emu oil at all! The reason for this is that when Emu oil goes through those refining processes, it loses beneficial properties, nutrients, and it’s unique structure.

Why does the oil sometimes look white and feel thick instead of a golden liquid oil?

This is a normal reaction emu oil has with weather. You’ll find that when the weather is a little colder, or if you’ve kept your oil in the fridge, the oil will solidify and will be harder to get out of the bottle (this can happen to the capsules too – they look cloudy when its cold). Alternatively, when the weather is warm, the oil will come out easily and have a nice golden colour to it (or clear, depending on the light!). If your oil is white and thick don’t panic – it’s still safe to use and hasn’t gone ‘rancid’. All you need to do is rest your bottle of oil in a warm bowl of water for about 5 minutes, shake well and use as normal.

Can you use emu oil on your face?

Absolutely! Apply a small amount and massage into your face. Many people find that they get fantastic results using oil this way. It’s great for dry skin or if you want to give your face an extra helping hand softening and deeply moisturizing your skin.

Is Emu Spirit safe to use on babies?

Yes. Emu Spirit Oil of Emu has been tested for its safety and stability and is gentle on sensitive skin such as babies’ skin.
